Jennifer AlLee “The Pastor’s Wife” Book Give Away

As a child, Jennifer AlLee lived above a mortuary and had to be very quiet when services were going on downstairs, which solidified her life-long love of books and writing. Jennifer now resides in the grace-filled city of Las Vegas with her husband and teenage son. Her next novel, The Pastor’s Wife, releases in February 2010 from Abingdon Press.

Please leave a comment if you’d like to be entered into the drawing, but be specific. Tell me at least one interesting thing you read about either Jennifer, or her new release.

I’m reading The Pastor’s Wife right now and thoroughly enjoying it. I haven’t finished simply because I’m on a deadline of my own, but I’m finding myself drawn to it when I should be writing. This is a book that won’t disappoint, in either the story line or the writing style. Be sure you pick up a copy of your own!

About THE PASTOR’S WIFE

Maura Sullivan never intended to set foot in Granger, Ohio, again. But when circumstances force her to return, she must face all the disappointments she tried so hard to leave behind: a husband who ignored her, a congregation she couldn’t please, and a God who took away everything she loved.

Nick Shepherd had put the past behind him. At least he thought he had, until the day his estranged wife walked back into town. Intending only to help Maura through her crisis of faith, Nick finds his feelings for her never died. Now, he must face the mistakes he made and find a way to give and receive forgiveness.

As God works in both their lives, Nick and Maura believe they can repair their broken relationship and reunite as man and wife. But Maura has something to tell Nick before they can move forward. It’s what ultimately drove her to leave six years earlier, and the one thing that can destroy the fragile trust they’ve begun to rebuild.

ENDORSEMENTS
Jennifer AlLee takes a classic romance situation; two people stuck together by an inheritance, and makes it fresh. The conflict between the pastor and his wife has eternal value. How does a pastor balance his ministry and his family? How can a woman of faith give up on vows made before God?
AlLee does a wonderful job of bringing her characters to life and making you care so much for them. I count myself lucky to have gotten an early look at The Pastor’s Wife.Mary Connealy, Christy award-nominated author of Calico Canyon and Montana Rose

Jennifer AlLee is a light in the world of Christian fiction. Her inspirational, creative, sometimes humorous, always intriguing, prose keeps readers highly motivated to turn pages—even to the point of missing sleep, of which I can attest to personally! The Pastor’s Wife is certainly no exception. With every book AlLee writes, I am continually amazed at how intricately her stories weave throughout, both with captivating story lines and a clear, yet far from preachy, message of God’s redemptive love. The Pastor’s Wife is an absolute winner and a book I’ll keep visible on my “favorites” shelf. I have no doubt Jennifer AlLee will remain a force to reckon with in the months and years to come, for her writing skills match those of many bestselling authors. Keep ’em coming, Jen—and we’ll keep readin’!

Featuring realistically drawn characters and a theme so needed in today’s it’s-about-me society, The Pastor’s Wife is a well-crafted, heart-stirring story of love lost…and rediscovered. In my opinion, Jennifer AlLee is an author to watch.

With wistful yet tightly woven prose, Jennifer AlLee pulls back the drapes in Christian pastorages and lets us see the aching and very real humans who caretake our souls. REVIEWS

AlLee offers an original perspective on some of the high and low points of being a pastor’s wife. Maura doesn’t come across as a very sympathetic character at first, but as the reader gets to know her, it’s easier to understand her choices. This novel provides a fast-paced and touching story.

  1. I didn’t have to read far to find an interesting fact about Jennifer. When she was born the baby in the room with her was Michael Landon Jr.!!!! I love Michael Landon and just finished reading Michael Jr.’s book “The Silent Gift” which was a wonderful book.

  2. I’ve worked closely with pastors for many years and seen the stress, frustration, but also rewards of the ministry firsthand. I guess that’s why I enjoy themes that involve a pastor and his family. And I can see how Jen developed a love for reading from living over a mortuary. That’s an interesting insight.
